Banten is a province on the island of Java, Indonesia. The province was once a part of West Java province, but separated since 2000, with the decision of Act No. 23 of 2000. Central government in the City Attack.
Banten Province has a limit, among others: the north side adjacent to the Java Sea. East with Jakarta and West Java Province. West of the Sunda Strait and the south by the ocean Indonesia
Banten sea area is one of the potential sea routes, the Sunda Strait is one of the sea lanes of traffic as it can be traversed strategic large vessel that connects Australia and New Zealand with the Southeast Asia region such as Thailand, Malaysia, and Singapore. In addition, Banten is a connecting path between Java and Sumatra. When linked to the geographical position and the government Banten region especially Tangerang City and Tangerang Regency is a buffer area for Jakarta.
Economically Banten region has many industries. Banten region also has several sea ports being developed in anticipation to accommodate the excess capacity of sea ports in Jakarta and is intended to be alternatives to the port of Singapore.
